Laura Arledge
DESIGNER + FOUNDER
State is led by Laura Arledge, an award-winning, licensed interior designer (NCIDQ). Laura studied interior design and the fine arts at Colorado State University and Florence University of the Arts (Italy). Prior to starting State in 2016, she served with notable firms for 10 years, working on commercial, boutique hospitality, and residential projects worldwide. During this time, she led interior design + identity development for numerous new brands and re-brands, earning accolades from IIDA (International Interior Design Association) and ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). Articles on her work have been published in Architectural Digest, USA Today, Luxe, Modern in Denver, Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, and brochures and websites for national furniture manufacturers.
Laura is known for her big-picture conceptual thinking paired with acute attention to design detail and technical execution. She thrives working with collaborative teams that push the boundaries of creativity. Her approach begins with understanding what drives the client and asking the right questions to formulate a creative backbone. She incorporates brand story and an artistic approach to develop one-of-a-kind, thoughtfully curated environments that are representative of each of State's clients.
